The Wimbledon 2024 final is fast approaching this weekend, and the Princess of Wales’s appearance is still up in the air because she is continuing with her cancer treatment and focusing on recovery. It’s understood a decision will be made on the day as to whether Princess Kate will attend – and should the royal be unable to go, a plan B will be orchestrated, reports say.

The organisers have previously said that they would give the Princess of Wales “as much flexibility as possible” in determining whether she is able to fulfil her ceremonial duties, meaning a decision should not be expected to be made until the morning of the women’s final on Saturday, July 13.

Kate took over from the late Queen Elizabeth II as patron of the All England Club in 2016, and has regularly presented the trophies on Centre Court.

Princess Kate wore different shades of green to the matches at Wimbledon in 2023, and for the men’s final she wore a chic ruffled green midi dress from one of her most-loved French designers, Roland Mouret. The 1980s-esque dress featured ornamental buttons, subtle puff sleeves and pleating, cinched together at the waist by a matching belt.
