Robert Redford’s wife is saying goodbye to the beautiful mountain home “near and dear” to her heart. Having listed the property for a hefty sum, Sibylle Szaggars Redford gives an exclusive view inside the luxurious space.
Hollywood power couple, Robert Redford and Sibylle Szaggars Redford, are parting ways with their stunning Utah home that the multimedia artist resided in during the early days of their relationship. The property is near her husband’s former tranquil Sundance Mountain Resort, where they first met in 1996.

Perched amid a forest full of pines, the home, located on Balsam Drive, spans 3,536 square feet and consists of three levels. Reports stipulate that Robert’s wife of 15 years, who married him in 2009, has listed the property for a whopping $3,995,000.

Boasting breathtaking and pristine views of waterfalls, nature, and Mount Timpanogos, Sibylle’s mountain home, which she purchased in the 1980s, provides the perfect space for those seeking both luxury and serenity. Speaking about the house to a media outlet, Sibylle gushed, “This home is truly near and dear to my heart.”

“It has been part of my story and a source of inspiration for my journey as an artist and an environmental activist. For years. I’ve relished in the sheer beauty of the setting, which is as serene and unspoiled as it is breathtaking,” she concluded.

According to Windermere Real Estate/Luxury Portfolio International listing agent Jaisa Bishop, Sibylle is parting ways with the home because the activist plans to spend more of her time in Santa Fe, New Mexico. “Sibylle is […] creating new art and focusing on her fine art gallery, Sibylle Szaggars Redford Fine Art,” added Jaisa.

Aside from her artwork, Sibylle will also be concentrating on her non-profit organization, The Way of Rain, which is based in Santa Fe.
The organization focuses on spotlighting artistic and educational performances to promote global conservation efforts and protect the environment. Sibylle’s loving husband, Robert, also plays a special role in the foundation as the vice president of her board of directors.

Naturally, given the fact that her Utah house played an instrumental role in helping forge her career as an artist and activist, Sibylle hopes that whoever owns the home next “will love and enjoy” the haven as much as she has. She also hopes that they will be influenced by “its uniqueness.”

Unique is certainly an appropriate word to characterize this Mountain-based slice of heaven. Jaw-dropping photos shared online by Windermere Real Estate capture the beauty of the place that offers “dramatic living spaces, a grand wood fireplace, and elegant guest rooms.”

Before stepping into the luxury cabin home, viewers are met with the towering deck attached to the front of the house which boasts grand, wooden-paneled windows. A closer look at the chill spot surrounded by trees reveals a cozy set-up of lounge chairs and a table.

Upon entering the four-bedroom and five-bathroom abode, one immediately notices how Sibylle managed to integrate elements of nature into the design and architecture. The spacious living room, in all its glory, features a wall of windows that extend up to the 27-foot ceiling.
There are also plush couches where residents can lie back and relax in front of the stone-frame fireplace on a cold winter’s day or night.

All around the home, bespoke artwork and decorative ornaments feature prominently. There is also a heavy emphasis on wood used throughout the house as well, especially in the dining area and kitchen.

Keeping things traditional and natural with a touch of modernism, Sibylle’s all-wooden kitchen boasts beautiful countertops and cupboards, and high-grade appliances like a steel stove, oven, and cooker hood. Lovely framed wall paintings also bring a touch of liveliness to the room.

The Utah haven also includes a study that features an array of wooden shelves that hold more ornaments and statues, what appears to be a leather chair, and a wooden desk, further harnessing the artistic feel of the home.

A standout picture shared by Windermere displays one of the four bedrooms inside the house. This room, encompassed by wooden structure beams and walls, features a comfy-looking bed.
Next to the bed, there is an area fitted with wooden cupboards and a sink. In the same room, there is also a coffee table placed in front of the bed that is decorated with beautiful ornaments.

The master suite’s unmatched views of the forest have even played a role in helping Sibylle craft masterpieces. “Just looking out the windows or standing on the terrace have become catalysts for the creation of a number of my most treasured paintings,” she disclosed.

Sibylle also mentioned how she would love to listen to the summer rainfall from this room. Two guest rooms are located on the home’s second floor, and each has its own bathroom.
Adding extra luxury, one of them also features a private jacuzzi-sized patio. The lower guest wing of the home has its own kitchenette and a private entrance.

The last picture in Windermere’s Instagram carousel shows the back porch of the home, which features an outdoor grill and steps that lead to a walking trail right into the woods.
“This is one of the most majestic and serene environments that you can ask for as a creator and an artist. It’s no wonder Sibylle found such inspiration and created such compelling pieces that inspire others to embrace nature conservancy in an elevated way,” Jaisa shared of the home.
Fascinatingly, not only did Sibylle’s Utah home help inspire some of her greatest creations, but the house has also been a showplace for some of her art, some of which have been sprinkled around the home.
As if the spacious cabin abode isn’t enough, Sibylle’s sale also includes an adjoining .62 acre lot, making the total acreage 1.43. Located in a gated community, the home, which can be registered in the short-term pool of Sundance Mountain Resort, also provides a sense of security.
Additionally, because the home is near Robert’s former resort, residents will be able to access Sundance Mountain Resort easily. According to a news outlet, Robert had owned this resort for 50 years.
He bought it in 1968 and changed its original name, Timp Haven, to Sundance after starring in the Oscar-winning film “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.”
The beautiful resort offers a wide range of fun activities and is the perfect spot for a getaway. Photos shared online by the resort and guests who have stayed there show the breathtaking landscapes and views of nature in all its glory.
Whether one is looking to enjoy a nice dinner, take a hike in the woodsy area, or simply enjoy a relaxing day inside the lodging rooms, Sundance Mountain Resort is the place to be.
While Robert Redford no longer owns Sundance Resort, having sold it and a nearby horse ranch in 2020, he still owns a ranch that is adjacent to the resort. Moreover, he and Sibylle are still integral members of the community.
Apart from Sibylle’s Utah home and Robert’s resort, “The Horse Whisperer” star has also sold his Napa Valley hilltop estate. Reportedly, he sold the mansion in 2018 for $7
